| Many people believe that in the event of a disaster, emergency services will rush to their front door to aid them.
Unfortunately this is not usually the case. When a disaster strikes, services may be stretched to their limit leaving citizens to fend for themselves.
Drawing on the experiences of various communities, this video helps community leaders teach citizens that instead of being totally reliant on the government and emergency services, they can take steps to empower themselves, and that it is easier than they think. Something as simple as picking up a few extra bandages or batteries for their disaster kit can go a long way in surviving the effects of an emergency.
With their newly gained disaster prep knowledge they and their families will feel confident about dealing with any emergency.
